And I really like the idea of real life superheros, because we need books to let us know our heroes aren't just fantasy. We can be them ourselves as well. Violence is not a good thing. Neither is it necessary to be a dude.

I'm gonna pretend that you didn't just say that about Wolverine ;) maybe you just don't know him like I do! (He would probably have told the dude to get over himself too!)

The great thing about this book is that it's about normal people who love superheroes, rather than the superheroes themselves. And maybe it can help non-cape fans understand us a little more ;)

Thanks for the lovely comment :) <3Cee Arr @ Dora Readshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04074909561530525221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-904551567804562350.post-8472374276317041642016-08-21T01:36:45.167+01:002016-08-21T01:36:45.167+01:00Ugh, I hate the label "real masculinity"...Ugh, I hate the label "real masculinity" no matter how well-intentioned it may be. It usually ends up being problematic and especially transphobic. Also, I hate Wolverine so I would definitely be skipping this essay.

Overall, this sounds like a neat concept for a book. Getting big names to write about super heroes? I can definitely see the appeal! Even if I myself am not a fan of superheroes beyond the occasional movie adaptation. :P I do understand their role in our society and especially like how you see them as a lifeline.
Lovely review. <3Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01244094664154091196noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-904551567804562350.post-2722024059696276692016-08-20T16:26:28.421+01:002016-08-20T16:26:28.421+01:00It was great! It's more of a book about fans of superheroes than a book about superheroes - and I'm sure everyone can find something in there that speaks to them :)Cee Arr @ Dora Readshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04074909561530525221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-904551567804562350.post-16263307910930162582016-08-20T15:27:32.534+01:002016-08-20T15:27:32.534+01:00This book looks really good!
