Nerd Church - Listen Up, 2019, We Need To Talk

'2019' against a starry background and a view of the Earth from space

Dear 2019,

We gave 2018 plenty of time and patience and care. And it still stabbed us in the back (and possibly some other places...)

So, despite the efforts of your elder siblings (years 2016 through 2018,) we're still standing, and still not giving up on hope.

But how about you make this easier for us?

Here's just a few things we need:

Trump being impeached.

Britain not falling into the worst economic depression and anarchy ever seen.

No chemical weapons.

No terror attacks.

No Nazis...

I think that's the very least we can ask for.

And, you know, we'll work on that ourselves, of course.

But we've been working on it, and we're tired. So a bit of a hand would be, y'know, helpful.

Or maybe just not knocking us down? If you can manage that?

Here's hoping, anyway.

Yours (still somehow) optimistically,

The World

  1. I think we all have these shared hopes for 2019. Hopefully they will come true!

  2. It feels like so much is poised to plunge right now and thinking of the future is scary. The recent climate change predictions bringing that potential disaster so much closer too.
I back your hopes completely and at least as bookworms we can study and hoard apocalypse novels so we'll know what (not) to do :-/

    1. Ha, maybe dystopian novels aren't the best teachers! I keep saying, the dystopian novels and music of the late 00s and early 10s were supposed to be warnings not instructions! ;)

  3. Hopefully, things will improve this year. 2018 was a good ear for me personally but for the world politically and environmentally? Not so much.
