Tell Me Something Tuesday: What Is Your Favourite Sports Team?

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a meme-thingy where people answer a different question each Tuesday

- it's currently run/hosted by Roberta @ Offbeat YA,  Berls at Because Reading Is Better Than Real Life, Jen at That's What I'm Talking About, Karen at For What It's Worth, and Linda at Book Girl of Mur-y-Castell.

I plan on dipping in-and-out of it if and when I feel like it - I figured it was a low-pressure way of posting a little more regularly here on Dora Reads (...and hopefully I'll be right about that!)

Tell Me Something Tuesday: What Is Your Favourite Sports Team?

April 28th: What is your favourite sports team?

I’m more of a tennis fan than anything, and tennis doesn’t really do ‘teams’ so much as ‘players.’

 — of which my favourite was always the legend that is Roger Federer, closely followed by Rafael Nadal.

Of the current players, I have to say Carlos Alcaraz is my fave.

I usually support my national team — Wales/Cymru — in whatever sport my dad happens to be watching at the time.

We’re lucky in things like football (US: soccer,) and rugby because we have our own national team instead of having to be a part of the UK/Britain.

Anyhow, it’s well known in Wales that you support 2 teams — Wales, and whoever’s playing England ;)

As far as football clubs go, I have a casual well-wishing for Cardiff, Swansea, and Wrexham, (not least because Wrexham’s success and popularity has done a lot for Wales in general,) as well as Liverpool.

Why Liverpool? Because when I was a smol child, I wanted to support a red team, because I liked red — but not Manchester United, because my brother supported them (and brothers and sisters have rules, ok?), and also their red devil mascot irritated me.

So yeah, when I was little I supported Liverpool just because — and I still have some residual good feeling towards them (lol.)

  1. Welcome to TMST! I hope you'll enjoy participating, if in a casual manner (which is what I do too, anyway...).

    LOL!

I liked your Liverpool story. A bit offended that you aren't a Sinner fan, but well...(...JOKING!).

I don't care for sports at all - never have. Same for movies, to be honest. My life is books, music, TV series and more books 😉. And lately, even music has been slipping to the background...

    1. Thanks :)

Lol, it's true! Scotland and Ireland have similar philosophies ;)

Yeah, sports isn't really 'my thing' either - except tennis, ofc. But I don't mind the odd bit of casual sports-observation, lol
