Comics Wrap-Up - What More Could Anyone Ask For, Really?

'Comics Wrap-Up' with lined-notebook-style background and speech bubbles containing heart symbols

It's Thursday, it's been a tough week, let's get some superhero-y comics-y goodness!

Wakanda Forever

The trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is amazing.

Lord knows, they had enough of a task ahead of them to create a sequel to Black Panther, but then with the sad loss of Chadwick Boseman - who played main character T'Challa - that job must have become so much harder.

Especially since cast and crew likely had to grieve the loss of a friend while being repeatedly reminded of that loss - my heart goes out to them.

And we have Namor!

Namor's always been such an interesting and complex character - there's so much for them to work with there!

And they seem to be taking him in a Mesoamerican Indigenous direction - certainly in terms of aesthetic - so we'll have to wait and see how that works out!

And, as if that weren't enough - we have Ironheart!

Ironheart is the legacy Iron Man (legacy characters are the ones who take up the mantle after the original and/or most-well-known user of the superhero name has retired or passed away.)

Riri Williams is a Black teenage girl who's featured in the comics since 2015 - she's also pretty damn awesome in general!

Warning: mild flashing images, grief, general violence

Shazam!

I'm unashamedly a Shazam! fan, and I'm loving the new 'Shazam! Fury of the Gods' trailer

The colours, the randomness, Lucy Liu in comic-book armour... what more could anyone ask for, really?

Warning: flashing images, general violence

Shameless Self-Promo Time!

Last week's Friday Fics Fix featured fanfiction about Brainy and Nia (love them!) from Supergirl.

  1. I loved the Black Panther trailer! While it will be hard to not see Chadwick reprise his role, I know they will do him justice.
