Friday Fics Fix - Once Upon A SamBucky Fairytale

 

'“Um,” said Sam, looking from Bucky to the golden retriever, “Do you know the dog?”

“Uh,” said Bucky, picking the honestly very large dog up, and walking around Sam, “Sort of? Could you… wait a moment? Watch the soup.”'

This is a weird fic.

Like, it's completely batpoop.

...And you know I love that 😉😅

Basically, what we have here is a The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (TFATWS) fic that gives us fairtytale AU style SamBucky.

Bucky is a wolf who lives in a magic forest, and gets turned into a people so that he can be with his crush, Sam, who is the local village healer.

Kind of like a reverse-werewolf situation, with an emphasis on fun fairytale-ness.

(Fandom notes:

AU = Alternate Universe

Fairytale AU = an Alternate Universe with fairytale-type shenanigans

SamBucky = a sexual and/or romantic relationship between Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes; also known as WinterFalcon etc.)

This fic is bizarre and fun and I love it

Not least because Steve Rogers is a golden retriever. And it makes meme references.

At that point, I was pretty sold tbh 😅

A couple of fairly mild Content Warnings (but, ofc, if something isn't mild to you then it isn't mild to you - no shame, no judgement):

- injury

- ref. to animals attacking livestock

- hunting

- mild nudity/adult humour

- speech/communication difficulties

- naked, non-speaking, man in the forest? seems legit.
