The 12 Year Blogging Anniversary Post!

Yes, it’s true. As of today, I’ve been blogging here at Dora Reads for 12 whole years!

I never quite know what to write in these anniversary posts, they usually turn into a slightly weird ramble (which is entirely on-brand for me, let’s be honest!)

Look, it’s not been the easiest 12 years.

You may or may not have noticed, but the last few years have been somewhat unstable, globally.

We have, to be blunt, all been through some sh** in the years since I started this blog in the internet-ancient-times of 2014.

Ah, 2014 — before the first Trump presidency. (If only someone had a time machine…)

But everything changes — even Dora Reads was originally Diary of A Reading Addict.

(…I got fed up of typing that out all the time, and was shortening it to DORA more and more so… voila!

Here we are — with Dora Reads.)

It’s no secret that I was in a bad place when I started this blog — 

and there have been a lot of mental health and personal life challenges over the years 

— but I’m glad that I’ve kept going, despite everything.

My posts have changed a lot over the years, and doubtless will continue to do so.

And that’s OK. Everything changes. 

But I’m still here - and I’m glad to have you here with me, whoever you may be. 😊
