It's Thursday, we're still here, let's get some superhero-y and comics-y goodness!

(And once again everything's in the 'Other Stuff' category, for which we will blame Loki.)

Other Stuff

(And we don't have HBO Max in the UK, so Lord knows if or how we get it)

For those of you who don't speak hardcore DC nerd (a language I somehow became fluent in without my knowledge or permission,) let's break this down:

Justice League was released in 2017.* The finished theatrical release was co-directed by Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon.

Snyder started the project, and then Whedon finished it - complete with re-shoots and changes to the script and storyline.

*Can't believe it was that long ago - I feel old!

So, in Nerd-dom, there were rumors. Rumors that became a legend

- that there was another, unreleased, version of Justice League. There was, somewhere out there, the Snyder cut.

(I think it should probably be pointed out right now that there are certain... elements... of DC's complex and vast fandom who stan each director (...especially Snyder,) to a slightly terrifying degree.)

And, it turns out, there is a Snyder Cut. One that HBO is now planning on releasing.

But nobody's seen the Snyder Cut, so nobody actually knows if this unfinished Holy Grail of DC fanpersons is, y'know, any good.

So I guess we'll have to wait and see!

A former editor at Marvel Comics, Christian Cooper, who is Black, was subjected to a racist incident in a park in New York* when he asked a White woman, Amy Cooper (not related,) to put her dog on a leash.

I don't understand why people act like this. It's terrible.

*Link CW: racism, video showing rough-handling of a dog which may constitute animal abuse

The lovely Neha @ Bibli Nyan posted a list of standalone mangas about cats!

And to finish up this week, dearest nerdlets, I have some links to reviews of graphic novels for you!;

*Link CW: violence and blood, including graphic imagery

Have you heard of the Snyder Cut?
Do you think it'll be any good?

  1. The only thing I know about Joss Whedon is that he created one of my favourite tv shows, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. So I can’t really comment on the Snyder cut, but I hope it’s good nonetheless!

    1. Ha, I suspect it'll be of similar quality to the theatrical release, but that some people will defend their fave in an increasingly heated online flame war. Lol.

  2. I haven't been keeping up with the news on HBO Max, but was happy to see my app update yesterday. We already watched Batman Returns, my absolute favorite film with the bat!

    1. If I remember correctly, that was the one with the exploding penguins...? Lol! Please tell me you've seen the Gotham TV series though?!?!

Comments? I love comments! Talk to me nerdlets!
