Friday Fics Fix - Loki Gets His A** Kidnapped

'“So that’s why I’m here?” Loki asked. “You think that I’ve become soft?”'

I love this MCU fic - it's so much fun.

So this is FrostIron - kinda - and verging on crack - but not all the way there.

It's really comic-booky - the action is something I could imagine in a graphic novel, and the whole *waves hands* ...vibe feels like it belongs in the panels of a comic book.

Not least because we're dealing with Dr Doom and MODOK - stock comics villains, after all, and pretty common go-tos for fic authors who need villains that aren't embroiled in the main MCU continuity.

Loki (Tom Hiddleston): few questions

(Fandom notes:

MCU - Marvel Cinematic Universe; the main Marvel movies etc.

FrostIron - a romantic and/or sexual relationship between Tony Stark and Loki

Crack - crack fics are... off-the-wall, internet-humour, anything-can-happen, batsh**, pieces of fanfiction)

So Loki gets his a** kidnapped.

(Embarrassing.)

And ends up getting kind-of-rescued by Tony.

(Even more embarrassing. For a variety of reasons.)

Honestly? This fic is relatively simple, but I loved it.

It was fun, full of sass and randomness, and just enough angst to a) create a plot, and b) keep my emo goblin spaghetti brain happy.

I also love the title of this fic - you'll see why in a sec 😅

A few Content Warnings:

- drugged abduction

- comics-style medical experimentation/torture

- general violence

- various injuries

This week's fic, then, is:

It's Not Rocket Surgery by NamelesslyNightlock

...love that title! 😂

Do you like comics-vibe-y fics?

Do you like this fic's title? Lol

  1. I'm glad you enjoyed this one, Cee! I think fic authors who are able to craft a world that could belong in a comic is such a talent.

    1. I love that in fanfiction you get the full breadth of vibes, from ultra-realistic, to hyper-cartoon-y, and everything in between! :)
