So, Bucky's out of the military on disability - on account of losing his
arm and gaining some PTSD - and his good ole army buddy Steve pesters him
into going to support groups at the Veterans' Association where he
works.
And it turns out Steve's been holding out on him, because his co-worker at the
VA, one Sam Wilson, is super-hot.
...And Bucky doesn't really know what to do about that, because Sam's nice to
everyone - it's not like he'd be into Bucky or anything. Right...?
Pretty much everybody except Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanov - and
possibly a couple of other people - are Gay in some way in this fic,
OK?
As the fanfiction Gods intended...
...though they would've made Steve and Nat Queer too, let's be honest!
This is a great fic - it handles heavy topics but doesn't
feel heavy
(...most of the time, anyway. It has a few Very Heavy moments.)
- and talks about mental health, adjusting to disability, stigma, life as a
veteran, etc. in a way that, to me at least (a non-veteran,) was pretty damn
good.
And it's novel-ish length, and you know I'm a sucker for that kind of
dedication!

SamBucky? Never heard of them, lol!! No in all seriousness, I will be reading this fic :) I like how it seems to talk about heavy topics without feeling like just really really sad. I think that fine balance is is important.
