Month In Review(s) - March 2020

(Warning: This post discusses Coronavirus/Covid 19 (b/c March 2020) and related stuff like lockdown and Anxiety)

...Maybe the first rule of March 2020, is that we don't talk about March 2020.

But then, I'd totally break that rule in half and throw the pieces in the air like confetti anyways, so here we are!

The Good News:

I'm fine. My family's fine. The nursing home makes video calls so we get to see my Nan, even if we can't hug her!

The Bad News:

My mental health is not great. I mean, it could def. be worse, considering everything, but this is f**king hard!

I've had several panic attacks and/or borderline panic attacks and... they don't get easier just 'cos you've had them before, y'know?

The UK is on full lockdown. Which means March felt like it went on forever, and I haven't hugged my Nan, my brother, or The Bestie in weeks.

I'm a cwtchy person from a cwtchy family from a cwtchy country... I need to hug the people I love!

BUT! I know that staying home and not seeing people is the way to keep the most people safe - including vulnerable people like my Nan. Please, please, please STAY HOME! #StayHome

The Ugly News:

My Problem Neighbours™ have sold the house, but can't move 'til the lockdown ends.

Not that they're following the goddamn rules - that would require a modicum of decency and common sense. *sighs*

  2. March has been so depressing! However, this is the only way that we can protect the people we love. I hope the situation will get better soon.

  3. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time! March 2020 has indeed been a truly stupid month, not that April is shaping up to be such a very lot better. At least I have romance novels to see me through! :P

    1. Thanks *squirms uncomfortably with knowledge that there are so many people worse off than me*

Romance novels for the win! :)

  4. I'm sorry to think that April will probably work out in a similar fashion to March though I hope it will feel easier at we get used to these restrictions. I spotted the first family of ducklings on the stream a couple of days ago which made me smile

  6. March was a difficult month. April seems like it’s going to be hard too. I’m glad I’m not a very social person. I’m okay with staying in the house and not seeing anybody.

    1. Overall it's fine... but the news, and not being able to see the people I love is the hard part!

    1. People are... very strange. I've heard it's more denialist in the US though - maybe because the whole country isn't on lockdown? (Maybe it's because of the *ahem* leadership.) Who knows!

Thanks Ethan - you totally rock! <3

  8. Sorry you've been struggling with anxiety, though I can't say I blame you---I think this has caused many people with anxiety issues struggles. I'm glad you still get to talk to your nan, even if it is via video!

  9. I know I don't suffer from panic attacks, but even my anxiety has been awful. It's so difficult not seeing friends and family, but I'm so glad you get video calls for your Nan. We are staying home with the exception of going for walks and picking up online grocery orders. Feel free to message me on Twitter if you need to vent or just need a "hug."

    1. Thanks so much - that's really sweet <3

I'm lucky in that I still live at home with my parents - I don't think I would've coped with being on my own atm!

Hope you & all your family are safe - take care! <3
