Month in Review(s) - October 2020

(Warning: this post discusses Coronavirus/Covid 19, and mental health problems)

Well... October was pretty much the same as the rest of 2020 - there were a couple of nice things in there, but overall it sucked.

(I'm still standing though! #ThePositiveSide!)

My local Lockdown became a Welsh national Lockdown, and the anti-Welsh sentiments in some parts of the media and the Interwebs were irritatingly loud.

*Takes deep breaths* *Resists urge to rant*

(If you want to see me ranting for a whole blogpost against an ignorant RT from the Trumpkin, you can read that here.)

So, to be clear: I don't like being in Lockdown - but I'm proud to be in a country which prioritises lives over political point-scoring.

And anti-Cymric 'jokes' about us being backward and/or stupid aren't acceptable.

Please don't even with that sh**.

Aside from all that my mental health hasn't been great this month - there were some days when it was Very Bad, tbh.

But I'm still here! Still standing - any month you survive is a good month dearest nerdlets, ok? Ok.

Every month has good points, and I'm determined to cling onto them! 😊

It's the little things that make life shinyful dearest nerdlets!

  1. Happy blogiversary! I hope you’re able to find ways to keep yourself entertained in lockdown. I thought I’d get more reading done while stuck in the house, but nope. I spend too much time doomscrolling. Have a good November.

    1. Since I work from home anyway, it's not too bad. It's more the feeling that we're further from things being OK, y'know? Anyway, our restrictions have started to ease again, fingers crossed this will have worked and the case numbers will be down!

  2. I wish I was in lockdown right now. I know that sounds stupid to say, but the Ontario government has not been helpful at all in combatting the second wave. Too many people are allowed to gather in large crowds, and then people wonder why the cases are so high? I'm looking for firm action but so far haven't been getting any. The next election can't come soon enough.

Anyways, I'm sorry you had a bad mental health month :( You've got this, Cee!

    1. Our restrictions are easing - but the Welsh Government is v. much of the opinion that we need to take it a step at a time. The problem we have is that the UK Government and press feel the need to undermine what the Welsh Government do... despite the fact that they ended up following us into a Lockdown - a Lockdown that is longer than ours was.

      Thanks Em :) <3
