Month In Review(s) - February 2021

(Warning: this post discusses Coronavirus/Covid 19 and mental health problems)

We are two months into 2021. Just two months.

I have nearly lost my Nan twice so far in 2021.

'February - Chwefror, with desk, scattered hearts, and notebook with pencil

Covid (which she had in January) has been so damaging to her health... it's awful.

If you're one of the people who thinks it's not that bad, or it's a hoax, or it somehow doesn't apply to you, then you can fuck off.

And yes, it kills me to write swear words without *s, but I'm leaving it in.

Nan seems to be doing a little better, but we're all hesitant to raise our hopes too high because her health is on such a fragile knife-edge.

It's like emotional whiplash atm.

...Which oddly enough hasn't been great for yours truly's mental health.

So yeah, I had some Very Bad mental health days this month.

Depression and Anxiety both suck, and they will use any little thing to try and get their claws back into you.

Still, I'm still standing! *(Mentally sings Elton John)*

I'm hoping to get some awesome-sauce posts up for you this month -

including the whole run-down of what happened between me and Amazon UK (please remember to use my Amazon links for US purchases ONLY because Amazon UK will get the money, but I won't)

- but I'm also going to try to practice what I preach and prioritise self-care over my self-destructive tendency to throw myself into over-working 😅

So, yeah, I'ma try to get these posts up, but please understand that if I don't it's because I honestly didn't have the time/energy/thinking power available to do it justice and/or function adequately in daily life.

  1. Aw, hon, I'm so sorry to hear that you and your nan have been having a hard time this year. I will keep a good thought for you both, and hope that March turns things around for you. <3

  2. I know a lot of people who have been having a rough year so far. I hope people realize that just because it's a new year, it doesn't mean COVID is over and that's why it is still so important to stay home, wear a mask, etc. C'mon people, do it for people like Cee's nan!

    1. Ha, thanks Em! :) <3

You're so right - people seem to think it doesn't matter any more, and it's like, we're still in the second wave here? And also I really don't want there to be a third? *sighs*

  4. COVID sucks and I'm so sorry it has impacted your family like this. Our state's numbers are rising every day again because restaurants are open and gyms are open, etc. People are getting together in too big of groups and it makes me so mad. I still don't qualify for a vaccine, which would obviously bring a bit of peace to my life. "I'm Still Standing" is a song I regularly sing in my head and it has also become more personal for me too this year. I really don't know why I only sing it in my head when I'm not around anyone that can hear my horrible singing voice anyway LOL. I really hope you were able to keep your promise to yourself for self care in March. Wishing you safety and health from the States.

    1. Thanks Danielle - things are slowly starting to re-open here after the second wave, and we're hoping there won't be a third. I have no idea when I'll get my vaccine, but we're hoping to get all adults vaccinated here by around the end of July. People who break the rules just... there are no words. There really aren't.

Hope things are good for you & yours! <3
