Warning: this post briefly discusses Depression
July. Ugh.
Well... let's look at the positives.
Once again, nobody in my life - either human or animal - died, almost died, or had a life-changing diagnosis.
Which is a low bar for a win, but that's the bar that I have - so it's a win.
Probably as a result of how sh**ty my year has been so far, my mental health has not been good this month.
Depression sucks. It sucks so goddamn bad.
So, I'm having to remind myself, yet again, that I need to self-care the sh** outta everything.
...You'd think after a decade of this I'd have learnt this lesson, but apparently not. 😅
On the plus side, July was summer the way it's meant to be here in Wales - rain, wind, and nice mild temperatures.
(I'm not being sarcastic - I love summers like that. This is what our climate is supposed to be like, and I don't feel like I'm gonna die like I did in June.)
Unfortunately the rest of the world is on fire because, say it with me, CLIMATE CHANGE IS REAL AND IT IS HERE.
As a reminder, all of my regular post series are taking a break in August.
Because I am tired and spinning multiple metaphorical plates 😅
I usually plan to try and get ahead with scheduling during breaks like this - and while that would be nice, I'm not going to pretend it's likely. I always intend it, and it never happens.
(I saw something the other day that said that Virgos are ultra-organised and I'm like... nope! Just a Queer disaster over here! Lol.)

My July was hot as hell and tiring and...just about the same as my latest year it's been, ever since my husband's ulcer forced him to stay in bed. It's slowly healing - keyword being "slowly" here - so yeah, I'm sick and tired of everything, and the summer is POISON for me on multiple levels. At least I have my books and my blog keeping me sane...

DeleteHave you seen the Barbie movie? There's a joke where Mattel wants to make a "depression Barbie." My sister chuckled, she said it was way too accurate. Idk joking about my mental illnesses helps me cope XD Hope you're ok, Cee!
ReplyDeleteI haven't - still not really comfortable with the cinema because of living with a vulnerable person, and the Covid numbers being up (...we think, the data-collection is almost non-existant here now.) But I so wanna watch it when it comes to streaming or TV or whatever! :)
