Month in Review(s) - May 2022

(Warning: this post discusses Covid, migraines, and mental health problems)

I know it's late-ish June. I got Covid.

...And I didn't want to just not do a post for May, because it was bugging me 😅

May 2022... *hysterical laughter*

OK, May 2022 was a bit of a rollercoaster for me.

Like, there was some really good stuff, some really bad stuff, and some stuff I point-blank don't know how to categorise.

'May - Mai' with a pink flower

I started out with a lovely combo of poor mental health and hayfever, which sucks.

Then I went to a My Chemical Romance concert at the end of the month, which rocks.

Although I was super-Anxious going and had adrenaline-spike issues and a panic attack, which sucks.

But I got through all that and went and rocked my little emo-child heart out anyhow, which rocks.

...And then a couple of days later, both me and The Bestie (who I went to said concert with,) tested positive for Covid. Which sucks. Hard.

It was open-air, I was careful, I'm triple-vaxxed. I have barely been anywhere in the last 2 years.

And it still effing got me.

Oh, and I managed to have a migraine at the start of having Covid -

- to the extent that I thought it was 'just' a migraine/hayfever combo to begin with (horrific enough, tbh,) and its only when it was getting beyond what my hayfever's usually like that I started thinking maybe it was something else.

And I had several mid-Covid panic attacks.

...But most of the Covid stuff was in June.

Still, 0/10, do not recommend. Still feel like trash, still exhausted, still losing my voice off-and-on, even now that I'm testing negative and entirely beyond the isolation period.

Also, since I'm still trying to get back to blogging, you can see when my regular posts will be back here.

  1. What a rollercoaster of a month, Cee! First, I'm glad you got to go see MCR even if the aftermath was entirely not fun. You couldn't have predicted you getting COVID and I'm glad that despite the panic, you were able to have fun.

I'm glad you're feeling better, and yay you for getting through mid-COVID panic attacks! I can entirely relate to getting panic when I'm sick, it's not fun, but you made it through. I hope you can have other great experiences this summer and a happier, healthier July!

    1. Thanks Em - I really hope so too!

The panic wasn't even specifically about Covid, but my system was so out of wack that my Anxiety was like, 'ooh! me too!' And because I was all stuffed up getting my breathing under control was tough... *sigh*

I'm glad I saw My Chem - not only did me & The Bestie double the Trinity (so we've now seen MCR, FOB, and P!ATD at least twice each,) but they sang their new single!!!! Argh! I saw Foundations of Decay live! I'm part of the Swarm!

It's hard to explain to people who aren't die-hard MCR fans how much it means to see them, but it's... everything, tbh. They've always been more than a band.

...I just wish life and my mental health would let me do something as 'simple' as go to a concert without turning it into an entire book-chapter's worth of bad happenings, y'know? Lol! :)

  2. Oh I'm sorry you got Covid. It's especially annoying when you're careful and do all the right things and STILL get it. I'm so looking foreward to She hulk because Tatiana Maslany...

    2. Have you ever watched Orphan Black? When they announced her as Jennifer Walters I was a little geeked. :)

    3. Ha, no I haven't - I'm actually not familiar with Tatiana Masalny, but she seems pretty cool :)

  3. I've successfully avoided covid, but I feel like any day now it's going to find me. I'm sorry you ended up getting it. I hope you make a full recovery soon. Hoping July treats you better.
