Month in Review(s) - November 2020

(Warning: this post discusses mental health problems, Covid 19/Coronavirus, and Transphobia)

November saw some rays of sunshine breaking through the end of 2020.

Biden won.

Hope of a Covid vaccine became more real.

As for me, well, I've had some ups-and-downs.

News of local people dying of and/or being ill with Covid. A firebreak Lockdown. The continued anti-Welsh sentiment in the press...

And then there's the Amazon Associate issue *sigh*

I can't go into it, because I've appealed the decision, but after some problems in November, I lost my UK Associateship in the first few days of December. That's all I can really say for now.

But it had me super stressy for a bit 😣 still kinda stressy now tbh.

Damn Anxiety always blows this kind of sh** out of proportion.

Update, 8th December:

Please DO NOT use my links to purchase from Amazon UK - my Associate account for the UK was unfairly closed, and Amazon UK will no longer pay me for any purchases made with them.

I will slowly be removing the UK links from 1000+ posts, but it's gonna take a while.

Anxiety and Depression really suck.

I had some Bad Days this month. Less than last month though - so a win! 😊

And I'll talk about this again in my December wrap-up, since the announcement came on 1st Dec, but it's an awful time in the UK for Trans rights, and access to Trans healthcare, atm.

If you can, then please consider supporting the UK Trans charity Mermaids, which continues to support Trans kids - who really need all the support we can give them right now.

In December, I'm looking forward to Christmas - I LOVE Christmas!

Since Christmas prep. can be stressful (especially this year, let's be honest,) I'll be doing my usual scale-back on posting here on Dora Reads.

But I'm still around, and still posting when I can! 😊

    1. Thanks Em. Amazon UK are def. not helping with that! I've officially lost my Associateship with them - I'm gonna complain, obviously, and if that doesn't work then I'm going to write a blogpost all about it. Because I don't give up easy! Have an awesome Christmas Em! <3

  3. Yes! Early November was incredibly stressful! The small light at the end of the tunnel was biden winning, but now I'm going to continue burying myself in books until Trump is officially out in Jan.

  4. I'm sorry to hear that last month brought difficulties -- I can relate to the feelings of uncertainty around COVID, and feeling so relieved when Biden won. I am hopeful that December and the new year will bring more hope and joy for us :)

  5. Hang in there! Sending love to you now and always. I too love Christmas--the whole "package" with festive lights, decorations, and of course the true meaning of the season. I also love how this time of year brings out the giving spirit in most people. Yes to a Biden win and approved vaccines!

    1. Thank you! :) Things aren't great Covid-wise in the UK right now, and it's getting mixed up with Brexit issues, which makes our supply route from mainland Europe an issue... anyway, Christmas is wonderful, and because my brother is a sole-person-household he's in our support bubble - which means we get to spend Christmas with him! Which is so important - we haven't seen our extended family and friends in so long, and Welsh people hug a lot, so it makes it extra-difficult.

      Happy Christmas! :)
