Micropoetry - April + July 2021

...because I wrote one piece in April, and then there was a big gap 'til the next one in July *shrugs*

Apparently I was having a Shakespearean references moment in April.

And was feeling things about Wales and our place in the world - and within (or maybe not) the United Kingdom - in July.

Y Ddraig means The Dragon in Welsh. You can check out a pronunciation here if that's something you're interested in.

So - this is what came out of all that! Enjoy!

As always, the poetry is in the alt-text for those who use screenreaders, with / marks showing line breaks

Month in Review(s) - November 2020

(Warning: this post discusses mental health problems, Covid 19/Coronavirus, and Transphobia)

November saw some rays of sunshine breaking through the end of 2020.

Biden won.

Hope of a Covid vaccine became more real.

As for me, well, I've had some ups-and-downs.

News of local people dying of and/or being ill with Covid. A firebreak Lockdown. The continued anti-Welsh sentiment in the press...

And then there's the Amazon Associate issue *sigh*

I can't go into it, because I've appealed the decision, but after some problems in November, I lost my UK Associateship in the first few days of December. That's all I can really say for now.

But it had me super stressy for a bit 😣 still kinda stressy now tbh.

Damn Anxiety always blows this kind of sh** out of proportion.

Update, 8th December:

Please DO NOT use my links to purchase from Amazon UK - my Associate account for the UK was unfairly closed, and Amazon UK will no longer pay me for any purchases made with them.

I will slowly be removing the UK links from 1000+ posts, but it's gonna take a while.

Micropoetry - September + October 2020

There is Micropoetry! Woo!

...The October pieces were kind of written in a weird headspace so... sorry about that!

The September one is a Haiku because apparently in 2020 I write Haikus! (Seriously, I think I've written more Haikus this year than I ever have before.)

It was also one of those things which just kinda pop into my head, and then won't leave me alone until I do something with them 😅 #WriterProblems

As always, the poetry is in the alt-text of the images for those of you using screen readers, with / marks showing line breaks.

Micropoetry - May + June 2020

Two very different pieces of Micropoetry from May and June for you, dearest nerdlets!

...Apparently I wasn't done with haiku, so the June poem is a haiku.

And I don't even know wtf I was doing with the May one... let me know if you like it, I guess? Whatever 'it' actually is!

As always, the poems are in the alt-text for those using screen-readers, with line breaks shown with a / mark.

Micropoetry - April 2020

I realise it's the 20th of May, but I have a very limited sense of space/time and a lack of organisation so... *shrugs*

OK, here's the micropoetry I wrote in April.

...And for some reason in April my brain decided to produce Haikus. I don't even know, tbh.

As always, for those using screen-readers, the poetry is in the alt-text, with / marks to show line breaks.

Micropoetry - February + March 2020

(What do you mean it's nearly the end of April? Shhhhh! 😉)

I'm not sure what to make of the pieces of Micropoetry I wrote in February and March.

Like... I don't know whether I like them or not. To be honest.

Anyway, um... tell me what you think, I guess!

As always, the poetry is in the alt-text for those usng screen-readers, with line breaks shown by / symbols.

Micropoetry - January 2020

I hoped to get January's Micropoetry post out earlier than this but... *shrugs*

Life happens. And I'm working hard on not over-working (I know, #WalkingContradiction ftw)

I'm also kinda nervous about this month's poems, 'cos... I don't know, tbh. I just am 😅 So hopefully you'll like them!

As always, for those using a screen-reader, the poems are in the alt-text, and line breaks are shown with / marks.

Micropoetry - December 2019

I wrote two pieces of Micropoetry in December.

They're quite different, but I actually quite like them!

As always, for those using screen-readers, the poetry can be found in the alt-text with / marks showing line breaks.

Micropoetry - October 2019

Micropoetry time again dearest nerdlets!

(Yes, I realise that it's the 20th of November. I have time issues. 😅)

This month's offerings are maybe a li'l weird

...but it was October dammit! You can totally be weird in October! (*pretends I'm not weird all year round*) ðŸ˜…

As always, for those using a screen-reader, the poetry is in the alt-text, with line breaks marked with a / symbol.

Nerd Church - Why I Love WW1 Poetry

Morbid li'l goth-emo child that I am, I LOVE World War One poetry.

I read it all year round: Siegfried Sassoon, Wilfred Owen, Isaac Rosenburg, Ivor Gurney, Edmund Blunden, Rupert Brooke...

*sighs happily*

'Why I Love WW1 Poetry' with poppies

So, seeing as how it's Rememberance Sunday, and it's the 11th of November tomorrow, I figured I'd let you in on the beautiful jewel of life that is WW1 poetry.

(Note: when I use the phrase 'WW1 poetry' I mean English-language WW1 poetry, mainly from British soldiers, with the odd Commonwealth soldier chucked in for good luck.

I'm sure that other nationalities also wrote poetry in a variety of languages and styles, but the WW1 poetry I and most people in the UK are familiar with is that I've just described.)

Micropoetry - August + September 2019

Yes! She still writes Micropoetry! And she's super-late with posting it! 😅

Why am I posting August and September's Micropoetry at the butt-end of October?

Well, because I'm a poorly-organised, hare-brained, book blogger. 😅

Multi-tasking Queen I may be -

(I'm currently juggling writing/putting together this post while doing work (like, adulting-style work,) and listening to a BookTube video on 2x speed)

- but I don't have all the time in the world, and I tend to forget sh**.

Plus, I have to sleep and eat and stuff, and self-care ftw! 😉

So, anywho, here's the Micropoetry:

As always, the poetry is in the alt-text for anyone using a screen-reader, with / marks showing line-breaks.

Wednesday 21 August 2019

Micropoetry - June + July 2019

Yes, I still write Micropoetry!

Shocking, right?

Sorry that the Micropoetry's been a little thin on the ground as of late, but *shrugs* sometimes it just goes like that.

Still, I've got two pieces of Micropoetry - one from June, one from July - for ya, so hopefully you'll like it!

As always, the poetry itself is in the alt-text for those using screen-readers, with / marks showing line-breaks.

Wednesday 22 May 2019

Micropoetry - April 2019

All the Micropoetry I posted in April!

Yes, I realise it's almost the end of May. Time, life, and all that stuff kept getting in the way.

(I did not intend that to rhyme! Lol.)

So without fussing any further, here's April's Micropoetry:

(As always, the text of the poems is in the alt-text, with / marks showing line breaks, for those using screen readers.)

Wednesday 17 April 2019

Micropoetry - February + March 2019

I have a challenge for you for this Micropoetry post, dearest nerdlets! 😉

See if you can figure out what type of music I was listening to with each of these (there's only two, so it's not too bad!)

(This is just for fun, obv.)

I'll give you a clue: I was either listening to rap, emo, heavy metal, or opera.

Micropoetry - January 2019

I realise it's nearly the end of February.

Fashionably late, dearest nerdlets, fashionably late 😎

The first of February's two pieces of Micropoetry is yet more proof that I've been listening to too much Eminem lately 😅

The second one is kind of personal... hopefully it's ok as a piece of poetry too.

As always, the poetry is in the alt-text for those using screen readers.

Micropoetry - November 2018

Ok, I know this is late, sorry, life kinda got in the way, but here it is: November's Micropoetry!

2 pieces for you this time round my dearest nerdlets!

(And maybe I should stop listening to so much Eminem... bit of an attitude here!)

As always, the poetry is in the alt-text of the graphics for those using screen readers 😊

Wednesday 14 November 2018

Micropoetry - September + October 2018

Here's my Micropoetry for September and October!

I only wrote one piece in September, so I figured I'd combine the two months.

And, in an action that has surely broken the laws of physics and/or the time-space-continuum, I somehow managed to find time to make graphics for all three!

(I seriously suspect some sort of time-warp was involved. B/c how?!)

As always, for those with screen-readers, the poetry will be in the alt-text of the images, with / marks denoting line breaks.

Wednesday 12 September 2018

Micropoetry - August 2018

More Micropoetry time!

And August's Micropoetry from yours truly was just as random-a** and eclectic as ever - enjoy!

Three pieces for you this time, all with graphics.

As ever, if you're using a screen reader, the poetry will be in the alt-text of the images, with / marks showing line breaks.

Wednesday 8 August 2018

Micropoetry - July 2018

I swear to God the heat is messing with my Micropoetry.

Again, this month, I've only written two pieces of Micropoetry... they're also a little weird. Like, weirder than usual! 😅

The second one in particular isn't for people who don't like creepy stuff.

Just a heads up!

Wednesday 11 July 2018

Micropoetry - June 2018

Only two pieces of Micropoetry for you this month!

I hope you like them, all the same! 😊

(For those using screen-readers, the alt-text contains the poetry with / marks showing line-breaks.)
